Meet the Moke Founders
Moke Apparel is more than just a fashion brand—it’s a family story that spans generations and continents. Founded in 2013 by Keith Stevens, Sarah Jennings, and Hamish Stevens, our journey began in 1999 when our family left small-town Oamaru, New Zealand, for the bustling metropolis of Shanghai, China. This decade-long adventure opened our eyes to new cultures and inspired our love for fashion and business.
Keith’s expertise in the leather and apparel industry, Hamish’s extensive sourcing experience, and Sarah’s background in marketing and fashion came together to create Moke Apparel. We set out to design outerwear that blends functionality with style, offering size-inclusive, ethically sourced garments at accessible price points.
Today, Moke Apparel stocks over 200 retailers across New Zealand and Australia, with a growing online presence. We’re proud to be a New Zealand-owned, family-run business, and we thank you for being part of our journey!

Keith Stevens is the heart and soul of Moke Apparel, bringing decades of sales, apparel and management expertise to the team. Born and raised in Oamaru, New Zealand, Keith climbed the ranks to become General Manager of Waitaki Leathers at just 28.
In 1999, he packed up his family and moved to Shanghai, where he spent over a decade building invaluable relationships in the global fashion industry as GM of Richina Leathers. Keith’s sharp business sense, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to foster meaningful connections laid the foundation for co-founding Moke Apparel. Since then, he has been instrumental in shaping the brand into the success it is today.
When he’s not in the office or out on the road meeting customers, Keith loves making the most of life in New Zealand. You’ll find him white baiting by the river, tending to his veggie garden, exploring the country with Lynn (his wife) in their campervan, or chasing after his four energetic grandkids.
Keith’s enthusiasm, experience, and down-to-earth nature make him a cornerstone of the Moke team.
